Leo managed to make sure things kept rolling even though the iPhone was covered non-stop for 24 hours. Again, this is not easy. I was pretty excited by the variety of topics and opinions that were presented as was the audience.
Now let’s look at what really happened. At any given second, between 7000 and 8000 people were watching LIVE. The cumulative audience for the event was just under 300,000! These are cable TV numbers folks without the Cable TV! We constantly had about 600-700 people on chat joining in as well.
The streaming part of this was amazing. The folks at Stickam did a great job. Streaming media has come a very long way since I started delivering radio with the Internet at NetRadio in the 90s. We could never support an audience that large simultaneously.Many of my listeners commented that it felt like the old TechTV days. I have to agree.
Leo’s been on the bleeding edge of technology media from day one. He’s always innovating and always trying to find new ways to serve his audience.
As far as I know, nothing has ever been done like this in the brief history of new media. To do 24-hour, live, streaming coverage of a single event in front of an audience of this size is a staggering achievement.

Scott Bourne of MacBreak Weekly (and many other podcasts, including the ApplePhoneShow and TWIP, This Week in Photography), recently wrote two articles for JPG Magazine, including "10 Tips For Avian Photographers" and "Photo Essay - The Wolf." Scott also sat down with Leo on TWiTLive.tv last week after MacBreak Weekly to talk about some of his shots and techniques.
Scott Bourne has a long history of successful pursuits, including his most recent, Podango Productions. Scott himself currently produces and/or hosts the Apple Phone Show, The iLife Zone, Girls Gone Geek, and This Week in Photography or TWiP which launched this year and has quickly become one of the world's most popular podcasts. Scott is also one of the hosts of MacBreak Weekly on the TWiT Network. In these videos FrederickVan (also of TWiP) stopped by Podango to say hi to Scott.

]]>In case you didn't catch it, this is the Easter egg album art that was included in last week's episode of MacBreak Weekly (61). We were waiting to use it until the Yellow Submarine iPod somehow came up again, which it did npt. But since Merlin is taking paternity leave of the show, Leo thought we might as well use it now. The "Collector's Edition" album art variation showed up on iPods but not on iTunes, and a few folks caught it, including Paul Mayson, strredwolf and rokku. Of course, Scott Bourne didn't happen to be on this episode, and Andy Ihnatko and Chris Breen were, but hey, I didn't have caricatures of them to plug in.
