Net@night's Amber MacArthur has redone her website, AmberMac.com, and it looks spectacular.
Thanks to so many of those in the Vox community that have added "Inside TWiT" to your neighborhood over the past couple of months. I have finally gotten around to reciprocating. Thanks again for your support of Leo and the other TWiTs. -- Dane Golden.
P.S. For those of you who haven't heard or participated in net@night with Amber and Leo, it's on tonight at 6 p.m. PST. Tip: If you get in before that time, you may get to hear Amber and Leo do their sound check -- you may even be the caller that they speak to during the sound check.
Leo lays down tracks on a series of Daily Giz Wiz episodes with Dick DeBartolo, then Security Now with Steve Gibson. Leo also finishes mixing a recorded version of last weekend's net@night live, the first episode of that show co-starring Amber MacArthur. Oh, yeah, and he voted. Overall, a very busy day, as you can tell from this audio bit.
Net@night (or the downloadable, podcastable version, will be available today). See Leo's post, show notes and user comments in "Episode 1: Billionaire Crank Calls." Amber talks about the show on her blog, "Our first live Internet talk show - Sunday nights, 9-10pm EST."
Although this link contains a rough cut and not a 'official' final remix version of the show, it's interesting to note the comments on the net@night page on TalkShoe. Some loved it, some liked it, some thought it needed some work.
Is net@night already a brand name? Geek Riot, which graciously moved its normal time to allow net@night to be on Sundays at 9:00 p.m. EST, is now labeling their show "Geek Riot - Live After Net@Nite."
Podcaster Dan Shaurette of "Is This Thing On?" dug net@night "TalkShoe had their big break, in more ways than one."
Blogger Steven Hobson liked the show.
Blogger Will heard the show. "Love you Amber!" he says.
And finally, Phil from Portugal was listening to the show live at 2 a.m. (translated page). He said the show starred "Leo Laporte, também conhecido por Sr. Podcast...ups...Netcast e Amber MacArthur, a loirinha mais geek da História." My Portuguese is a little rusty, but with the help of the Google translation tool it seems he said the show starred "Leo Laporte, also known for Mr. Podcast… oops… Netcast, and Amber MacArthur, the most beautiful blonde geek in history."
Tonight Leo and Amber launched Net@Night, TWiT's first live call-in podcast over the TalkShoe client. As you may already know, there was a heck of a lot of people listening from the U.S., Canada, Australia and the UK (where it began at 2 a.m. GMT). Leo and Amber were able to speak with a few callers, but their most interesting call was one they decided to make on the spur of the moment to YouTube founder Steve Chen. Look for a downloadable version of the podcast to be posted by Tuesday at TWiT.tv. Until then, you can listen to this brief audio of Leo's thoughts right after the show ended tonight (Sunday).
